The meaning behind Wonderwend Hollow

Wonderwend Hollow brings together words that capture the heart of this cohort's vision.

"Wonder inspires the wish to understand...Wonder fuels our passion for exploration and learning, for curiosity and adventure." (Atlas of the Heart by Brene Brown).

Wend means to journey with a sense of purpose -often slowly, thoughtfully, or along a meandering path.

A hollow in nature refers to a naturally formed empty space within the trunk or branches of a tree, offering shelter, safety, and the chance to grow.

Hi! I'm Jessi

the Founder of Wonderwend hollow

Former preschool and kindergarten teacher, now eclectic homeschooling mom.

I hold degrees in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, and Reading, along with an advanced degree in Effective Teaching.

With over 15 years in early childhood education–including Head Start and kindergarten at a STEM charter school–I worked with young learners to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love for discovery.

Today, Wonderwend Hollow blends my passion for play-based, child-led learning with community connection, nurturing growth through hands-on exploration and nature-inspired adventures.
